Strengths: Picture quality, price, size (foot print), detachable speakers, weight
Weakness: Remote is generic. Speakers are just ok.
I have had this monitor for a couple of months now and can do nothing but rave about it. The picture quality is nothing short of awesome. For some reason the market has ignored the monitor sizes between 32 inch 42 inch. When you do find a 37” the price is nearly 1k more than the LVM-37w1. Dollar for dollar I doubt if you will be able to even come close to the picture quality this monitor...
Strengths: Highest available resolution 1920x1080 Only display that currently supports 1080p input Excellent price
Weakness: No HDMI input so an HDMI to DVI converter is required from an HDMI source No preset modes such as Sports or Theater Factory default settings are not great and need to be adjusted
The LVM-37w1 37" monitor is one of the best values on the market. With 1920x1080 native resolution it is one of only two LCD HDTV capable of displaying the full 1080i resolution without scaling it down to a lower native monitor resolution as most LCD and plasma panels on the market today do. The picture produced in both 720p and 1080i is excellent. I enjoy watching sports in HD especially...
Strengths: True 1080p resolution, thin, simple, solid.
Weakness: Off angle viewing decreases contrast.
I've been looking for a true HD display (1920 x 1080) for less than $2,000 since I purchased by last 34 inch widescreen CRT. This fits the ticket very nicely. It has enough inputs to support my Dish HDTV, PC, PS2, and DVD recorder nicely. HDTV looks fantastic. Though it doesn't have the best black level on the planet, turning down the backlight to almost zero makes for a very compelling image. It...
Strengths: Picture sharpness and accuracy; native mode; compact size; price
Weakness: None as a monitor
I have 720p and 1080i HDTV's. Their picture sharpness and quality do not compare to this TV. The cabinet is minimum size for the picture size. It even has a DVI input for the forthcoming HD DVD's (1080p input). The native mode eliminates almost all conversions and, for 1080i broadcasts, produces exactly what is broadcast.
Strengths: COMPUTER QUALITY! 1080P! 1920x1080! PC CLARITY! AUTO ADJUSTMENT!
Weakness: No HDMI Input's :( Speakers Have 2x gaping wholes behind them. Speakers are worthless and sound crappy :(
I Have to say, this monitor is by far the best looking monitor I have ever seen. This Monitor was bought strickly for a monitor! I didn't buy this with tv in mind, I dont even think about tv, since my free satelite was killed. HOWEVER! Since this monitor looks so amazing as a computer monitor, I picked up a high definition free to air reciever to watch satelite, AND EVEN SATELITE LOOKS AMAZING IN...
Strengths: true 1080p, perfect for Windows Media Center, bright picture even at daylight, 2 DVI and 1 VGA input.
Weakness: black level when watching movies in the dark
Most importantly make sure you use a DVI cable to hook it up to your PC or HDTV source. The resulting picture is 100% better compared to any of the other inputs. This TV/Monitor is a great addition to any Media-Center system. If you want to watch HDTV or do any web browsing or gaming on your TV this LCD unit is perfect. I'm running it at its full 1920x1080 resolution connected to a nVidia 7800GT...
Strengths: 1) High resolution 1920x1080 2) Multitude of inputs
Weakness: 1) TV picture quality only OK (compared say to Sharp LCD TV's) 2) Not reliable. Failed after 2 months of usage
TV picture quality only OK when compared to other LCD or plasma TV's. It's main strength: as a PC monitor. 1080p resolution supported by this monitor seems to make it future proof, but since 1080i seems to be the highest standard in which HDTV channels are broadcast for now (and probably for the next 2-3 years), unless you use it at least 50% of the time as a PC monitor, I'd say you're better off...
Strengths: Good price/performance. Great resolution. About the only 1080p monitor out there. Lots of inputs. Light weight.
Weakness: Normal problems with LCD tvs--poor black levels, picture lacks pop. Power light can be annoying in dark rooms. Had to send my first unit back-stuck pixel. Does not work with most universal remotes.
I chose this unit because it was the right size and style to fit in my home. For a low-end, off-brand product, its performance is awesome. The 1920x1080 resolution is excellent, but I find myself sitting about 2.5 feet from the screen in order to pick up the detail. It also managed the 480i signals better than expected. The black levels aren't very deep (turning down the "backlight" setting...
Strengths: 1920x1080 resolution. Pretty nice looking device and pretty good picture.
Weakness: No tuners. Remote mixup for me. 275W power consumption. Lack of inputs. No automatic input detection.
I bought this for only $1199. The picture is very good. However, the one I bought has few dead pixels on it, all concentrated in 1 1x1 inch location, so it'll go back. This one is one of the rare TVs that has 1920x1080 resolution. The other 37" brands are either 2x the price of this or look very ugly. One huge problem for me was this: I have an Accurian HDTV set-top box, and the remote codes for...

A perfect match for MCE
Strengths: 1920x1080 resolution Decent-sounding (removable) speakers Power Management PIP Attractive design Easy access to cable connections Plethora of inputs PRICE!
Weakness: Backlight issues (chirping, reverse-vignetting) Glaring blue LED that cannot be turned off Remote sensor not very responsive Some ghosting/smearing (depending on resolution, content)
Over the past year I've been searching for the "ideal" display to connect to my Windows MCE 2005 HTPC box. I had been using S-Video out to a 32" Tube TV, so I was definitely ready for a digital connection. I was also itching to start watching high-def content so I knew I wanted a widescreen display. I had read enough to know that I wanted to find a TV set that used one of the standard high...
